Wrong-way Crash on Pearblossom Highway Kills Two in Antelope Valley
ANTELOPE VALLEY, CA (December 13, 2021) – Early in the morning on Saturday in the Antelope Valley, two people were killed in a wrong-way crash. The December 11 crash occurred on the Pearblossom Highway.
The time was roughly a little before 3:00 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A vehicle–described as a Chevrolet pickup truck–had been traveling west on State Route 138 in a lane that heads east, going against traffic. In an area near 133rd Street East, the pickup truck collided with a Ford sedan head on.
The force of the crash sent the pickup truck to overturn, and it came to a stop upside down.
Two people who had been traveling in the pickup truck died at the crash site.
The driver was identified only as a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, 21 years old. His name has not been reported.
The passenger was identified only as a resident of San Bernardino, 49 years old. The passenger’s name has also not been reported.
According to authorities, neither of the occupants of the pickup truck had been wearing seatbelts when the crash occurred.
The person who was driving the Ford was not hurt in the crash, reports say. The identity of the person, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
