San Diego Man Driving Street Sweeper Injured when Car Rear-ends Vehicle
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 24, 2021) – Early in the morning on Tuesday in San Diego, a man who was driving a street sweeper was seriously injured when a car rear-ended the vehicle. The November 23 crash occurred at 7300 Mission Gorge Road.
The time was roughly 5:00 a.m., San Diego Police said.
Authorities said a car–which has not been described–had been traveling on Mission Gorge Road and heading west. The car smashed into the rear of the street sweeper that was also traveling on the road in the area of Allied Gardens.
Responders arrived to help. The person who had been driving the street sweeper suffered injuries that were described as serious, including broken ribs, broken sternum, and internal injuries.
The current condition of the patient is not known. He was identified only as 52 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the car was identified only as 34 years old. His name and city of residence have also not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work to collect information about the crash.
