Hit-and-run Driver Kills Bakersfield Bicyclist at Harris Road and County Meadows Drive
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 30, 2021) – Early in the morning on Saturday in Bakersfield, a bicyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The August 28 crash occurred where County Meadows Drive and Harris Road intersect.
The time was roughly 12:35 a.m., Bakersfield Police said.
A vehicle–described as an SUV, possibly red in color–struck the bicyclist. The driver did not remain at the crash site or help the victim, but fled the scene.
Responders transported the injured man to the hospital where he died. His identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver. If anyone has information about the crash, the person can contact police. The number is 661-327-7111.
