Pasadena Crash that Sends One Vehicle into Cheesecake Factory, Injures Two Drivers

PASADENA, CA (May 26, 2021) – Two drivers were injured on Tuesday morning in Pasadena in a crash in Old Town. The May 25 crash sent one of the vehicles to smash into the Cheesecake Factory restaurant.

The time was roughly 6:00 a.m.

According to Bill Grisafe, who is a lieutenant with Pasadena Police, two vehicles collided in the vicinity of Colorado Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue. The crash sent one of the vehicles to smash into the front of the building where the Cheesecake Factory restaurant is located.

Responders transported the person who had been driving the car that ended up crashed into the restaurant to a hospital. The types of injuries she suffered, and her current condition, are not known. She has not been identified in reports.

Responders treated the other driver at the crash site. Her injuries were described as minor. Her identity has also not been reported.

Investigators are working to understand why the crash happened. No details have yet been reported on the line of travel of each vehicle prior to colliding.

The building where the restaurant is located had damage to its structure, but the extent of the damage, and whether it was structurally sound, is not currently known.
