Ocean Beach Man Killed by Hit-and-run Driver; Police Seek Public’s Help
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 26, 2021) – Frank Thomas Neal was struck and killed in Ocean Beach on Friday by a hit-and-run driver, and police are seeking the public’s help to find the suspect. The May 21 crash occurred in the alley of Niagara Avenue in the 4800 block.
The time was roughly a little after 11:00 p.m., according to San Diego Police.
Neal had fallen, according to reports, and was down on the ground in the alley. A vehicle–described as a Chevrolet Suburban or a GMC Yukon SUV, white in color–that was traveling in the alley, went over him. The driver did not stop to help, but left the crash site.
Responders found Neal had died at the crash site. He was a resident of San Diego, 60 years old.
Investigators are searching for the suspect driver, who has not been described, and the vehicle. According to authorities, the SUV has a sunroof, silver rims, and molding trim on its side.
