East Hollywood Hit-and-run Crash near Melrose Ave. Kills Man
LOS ANGELES, CA (May 10, 2021) – Early in the morning on Saturday in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles, a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash. The May 8 incident occurred in the area of North Edgemont Street and Melrose Avenue.
The time was roughly 5:26 a.m., Los Angeles Police said.
Video recorded from a surveillance camera captured a vehicle–described as a sedan, black in color–leaving the crash site after hitting the victim. According to reports, the suspected hit-and-run driver neither stopped nor slowed the vehicle after hitting the person.
The victim who was killed was identified only as in his thirties; his name and city of residence have not been reported.
Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved, and the suspect driver, who has not been described. They are in the process of seeking information, details, and other surveillance video, according to reports.
