Video of Hit-and-run Crash that Injured Teen in Los Angeles’ Los Feliz Area is Released
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 28, 2021) – Video recorded by a surveillance camera that captured a hit-and-run crash last week in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles was released by police. Authorities are searching for the suspect driver who hit a teen boy and left him without stopping or helping the victim.
The April 21 incident occurred on Prospect Avenue where it intersects with Talmadge Avenue.
The time was roughly 11:25 p.m., Los Angeles Police said.
The boy had been walking across Prospect Avenue and a vehicle–described as a cargo van, white in color with dark molding above the tires–struck him. The force of the crash sent the victim flying over 20 feet in the air, according to people who witnessed the incident, reports say.
The boy came down on the street’s opposite side. Good Samaritans helped the boy until responders arrived.
Responders transported the teen to a hospital in the area. He suffered injuries that were described as severe.
His current condition was described as stable. He was identified only as 15 years old.
Investigators are searching for the van involved in the crash, and the suspect driver, who has not been described.
