Multiple Vehicles Collide on I-5 in Commerce, Injuring Six
COMMERCE, CA (April 22, 2021) – A crash early in the morning on Monday in Commerce involving multiple vehicles injured six people. The April 19 incident occurred on I-5 near Slauson Avenue.
The time was roughly 2:40 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
According to people who witnessed the incident, two vehicles–which have not been described–smashed into car that was disabled in the fast lane of the freeway on the northbound side.
The disabled car was described only as a sedan.
Responders arrived and found six people had been injured in the crash. Responders from Los Angeles County Fire transported two patients to the hospital, according to Melinda Choi, who is a dispatch supervisor.
One person suffered injuries that were described as critical. The identity of the person has not been reported.
Another person suffered injuries that were described as moderate. The person’s identity has also not been reported.
Four people suffered injuries that were described as minor. They have not been identified.
Reports do not say who the drivers had been when the crash occurred, and who were passengers. Investigators are in the process of collecting information and details regarding the incident.
