Oxnard Crash and Ventura Crash–Hours Apart–Cause Injuries and Death
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (April 14, 2021) – Two crashes only hours apart–one in Oxnard and one in Ventura–killed a person and injured two others.
The first crash occurred late at night on Monday, April 12, just a bit before midnight. A pedestrian, who was crossing Gonzales Road in an area between Victoria Avenue and Harbor Boulevard, was struck by a vehicle and killed.
The pedestrian was identified only as female. Her name, age, and city of residence have not been reported.
The vehicle involved in the crash has not been described, and the driver has not been identified.
Hours later in Ventura, in the early morning on Tuesday, April 13, a little bit after 4:30 a.m., a vehicle smashed into a light pole where Transport Road and Telephone Road intersect. The vehicle has not been described.
Reports say that according to police, the vehicle had been going at a fast speed on Telephone Road at the time the crash occurred.
Ventura City firefighter responders worked to free two occupants from the wrecked vehicle. Responders transported the two patients to VCMC.
The types of injuries the patients suffered were described as major. Their current condition is not known.
The identities of the two people have not been reported. Reports do not say who the driver had been when the crash occurred.
Investigators are working to understand each crash, and they are in the process of collecting information.
