Cyclist in San Marcos Seriously Injured on Woodland Parkway in Hit-and-run Crash
SAN MARCOS, CA (April 2, 2021) – Early in the evening on Thursday in San Marcos, a hit-and-run driver seriously injured a bicyclist. The April 1 incident occurred on Woodland Parkway, near Fulton Road and to the north of it.
The time was roughly a little before 8:00 p.m., the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department said.
Paramedic responders from San Marcos Fire arrived to help, and they transported the patient to Palomar Hospital. The injuries the man suffered were described as serious.
His current condition is not known. He was identified only as 71 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
Authorities believe the bicyclist had been traveling in the lane that heads north, and a vehicle–described as an Audi A4–struck him from behind.
The person driving the vehicle did not remain at the crash site to help the victim.
Investigators are continuing their work on the incident.
