Woman Injured by Hit-and-run Driver in Glendale
GLENDALE, CA (October 26, 2020) – Siranoosh Yousefi was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver late in the afternoon on Wednesday in Glendale. The October 21 incident occurred on Dryden Street in the 500 block.
The time was roughly 4:30 p.m., according to Glendale Police.
Yousefi had been walking across the street and a vehicle– described as a pick up truck, which may be a Chevrolet Silverado, dark in color–struck her. The driver did not stop to help her, but fled the crash site.
People in the area who saw the incident called for responders. Responders arrived and transported Yousefi to a hospital.
She suffered injuries that include a brain bleed, a fracture to her skull, and broken pelvis, her son Vehan Amirian is reported to have said.
Her condition is described as critical. Yousefi is 66 years old.
Video from a security camera recorded the incident, reports say. Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver.
