Crash on Hueneme Road Near Oxnard Kills Motorcyclist
OXNARD, CA (October 7, 2020) – A crash on Sunday afternoon near Oxnard killed a motorcyclist. The October 5 incident occurred on Hueneme Road, near Edison Drive and to the east of it.
A motorcyclist who had been on a Harley Davidson was traveling on Hueneme Road and heading east, according to the California Highway Patrol. The motorcycle was behind a vehicle–described as a Nissan sedan–which was traveling in the same direction.
Reports say the motorcyclist attempted to pass the Nissan, and the Nissan had been turning left to park on the other side of the road. The motorcycle and the sedan collided, and the bike went out of the rider’s control.
The motorcyclist smashed into a vehicle that was parked along the road. The Harley caught fire while the rider was stuck beneath it.
Responders arrived and transported the rider to VCMC. He died in the hospital.
He was identified as a resident of Agoura Hills, 57 years old. His name has not been reported.
The person who was driving the Nissan was identified as a resident of Studio City, 55 years old. His name has not been reported. He was not injured in the crash, reports say.
Investigators are working to understand the circumstances and factors related to the crash. They are collecting details and information.
