Seal Beach Crash Kills Pedestrian on Pacific Coast Highway; DUI Suspected
SEAL BEACH, CA (September 21, 2020) – Early in the morning on Sunday, a pedestrian in Seal Beach was struck and killed by a suspected drunk driver. The September 20 incident occurred on Pacific Coast Highway in the 159000 block.
The time was after midnight, according to Nick Nicholas. Nicholas is a sergeant with Seal Beach Police.
No details have been reported on how the crash occurred. It is not known where the victim had been walking, nor what line of travel the vehicle had been taking prior to the crash.
Responders arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the incident site. The identity of the pedestrian, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle involved in the crash–described as a Ford Eagle, gray in color–was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI. She was identified as Elizabeth Landess, 30 years old and a resident of Long Beach.
