11 Year Old Girl Killed by Hit-and-run Driver in Highland
HIGHLAND, CA (July 3, 2020) – Annika Fullerton, an 11-year-old girl, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Highland on Monday night. The June 29 incident occurred close to where Glenheather Drive and Church Street intersect.
The time was roughly 8:30 p.m., Highland Police said.
Reports say Annika Fullerton was with her cousins and out walking when a vehicle–described as an SUV or minivan–struck her. The suspect driver did not stop to help the victim, but fled the incident site.
Responders arrived and transported Fullerton to a hospital. She died in the hospital. Annika Fullerton was a resident of Colorado. She had been visiting family in California.
Video from a surveillance camera recorded the vehicle. Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver, who has not been described.
