Hit-and-run Crash on Willow Street in Long Beach Kills Pedestrian
LONG BEACH, CA (July 2, 2020) – On Wednesday night in Long Beach, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a pedestrian. The July 1 incident occurred on Willow Street near the intersection with Delta Avenue.
The time was roughly 9:00 p.m., according to Long Beach Police.
Reports say responders arrived and found the victim had died at the incident site. The identity of the victim, including his name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.
According to reports, a vehicle, which had been going east on Willow Street, hit the victim. The vehicle has not been described, though reports say a person who witnessed the crash followed the suspect driver and saw the license plate number on the vehicle involved.
Authorities used the license plate number to locate the vehicle at a North Long Beach residence. The vehicle had damage, which may be consistent with a crash.
