Driver Crashes on Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo; Responders Work to Free Victim
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (April 8, 2020) – Early in the morning on Wednesday in San Luis Obispo, a driver crashed on Highway 101 and was trapped in the vehicle. The April 8 incident occurred on the northbound side of the highway, near the off-ramp for Prado Road and to the north of it.
The time was roughly 4:20 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said.
Reports say a single vehicle—which has not been described—crashed, for reasons that are not known. The vehicle smashed through a fence and came to a stop off the roadway by roughly 30 feet.
Responders worked to free the person who had been driving the vehicle. The person suffered injuries that were described as moderate. The type of injuries the person suffered, and current condition, are not known.
The identity of the driver, including name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. Reports say no one else was in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Investigators are working to understand the cause of the crash by collecting details and information.
