LYNWOOD, CA (March 3, 2020) – On Monday night, a woman was struck and injured in Lynwood by a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department patrol vehicle. The March 2 incident occurred on Long Beach Boulevard, in an area between Burton Avenue and Carlin Avenue.
The time was roughly 6:30 p.m., Michelle Sanchez said. Sanchez is a deputy with the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Reports say a woman was struck by the patrol vehicle, but the circumstances surrounding the incident are not clear. According to reports, authorities said the deputy had been traveling in the patrol vehicle with the lights illuminated and siren on as the deputy responded to a call.
Responders transported the woman to a hospital. The types of injuries she suffered, and her current condition, are not known. Her identity—including name, age, and city of residence—has not been reported.
