Hit-and-run Crash in Temescal Valley Kills Three Juveniles
TEMESCAL VALLEY, CA (January 20, 2020) – On Sunday night, a crash involving a hit-and-run driver in Temescal Valley killed three juvenile males. The January 19 incident occurred on Temescal Canyon Road near where Trilogy Parkway intersects.
The time was roughly 10:30 p.m.
Reports say a vehicle carrying five juvenile passengers, with a driver identified as 18 years old, had been heading south in a Toyota Prius on Temescal Canyon Road. For reasons that are not known, the Toyota collided with another vehicle, which has not been described.
The other vehicle had also been heading south. The Toyota went off the road and hit a tree.
Responders arrived and pronounced one of the victims deceased at the incident site. Responders transported all the other people who had been in the Toyota to hospitals in the area.
According to reports, two of the victims died in the hospital. Juan Quintero, who is an officer with the California Highway Patrol, said the victims were all males. The names, ages, and cities of residence of the victims have not been reported.
The identities of the surviving victims have not been identified. The types of injuries they suffered, and their current condition, is not known.
Reports say the other vehicle involved in the crash fled the incident site. A witness was reported to have followed the suspect vehicle.
Investigators located the suspect driver and took the person into custody. His identity has not been reported.
Investigators are continuing their work of gathering details and information regarding the incident.
