Head-on Collision Kills Woman on Avenue 384 in Fresno; Five Others Injured

FRESNO, CA (December 27, 2019) – On Thursday morning, a woman was killed in a head-on crash and five other were injured in Fresno. The December 26 incident occurred on Avenue 384 close to where Monson Avenue is located.

The time was roughly 6:00 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Reports say a vehicle—described as a Kia—had been heading west on Avenue 384. The vehicle went into the lane of opposing traffic, for reasons that are not known, and collided with another vehicle—described as a Chevrolet—head on.

A person who had been riding as a passenger in the Chevrolet was killed in the crash. Her identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported.

Four other people who had been traveling in the Chevrolet were hurt. Their identities have also not been reported. The types of injuries they suffered, and their current condition, are not known. The driver of the Chevrolet has not been identified.

Responders transported the driver of the Kia to a hospital. He suffered injuries that were described as serious. His current condition is not known.

Authorities arrested the driver of the Kia on suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver was identified as Gabriel Johnson, 33 years old.

Investigators are continuing their work to collect details and information regarding the incident.
