Hit-and-run Driver Kills Woman in Wheelchair on Euclid Avenue in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 9, 2019) – Early in the morning on Monday in San Diego’s Lincoln Park area, a woman in a wheelchair was killed by a hit-and-run driver. The December 9 incident occurred on Euclid Avenue near Imperial Avenue, and to the north of it.
The time was roughly a little before 3:50 a.m., according to Robert Hawkins. Hawkins is a sergeant with the San Diego Police.
Reports say the woman had been heading north on Euclid Avenue in the left lane on her motorized wheelchair, and a vehicle, which was going the same way, hit her.
The driver did not stop to help the victim, but left the scene.
Responders arrived and pronounced the victim deceased at the incident site. She was 62 years old. Her name has not been reported.
The vehicle involved was described only as dark in color. Investigators are searching for the vehicle and the driver involved in the incident.
