Suspected DUI Hit-and-run Driver Strikes Parked Vehicle on Orange Avenue in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 12, 2019) – A driver who is suspected of DUI and hit-and-run struck a parked vehicle in San Diego’s El Cerrito area on Saturday afternoon. The November 9 incident occurred on Orange Avenue in the 5400 block.
The time was roughly 1:00 p.m., according to Tony Martinez. Martinez is an officer with the San Diego Police.
Reports say the driver was heading west in a Honda Civic on Orange Avenue when the vehicle he was in struck a vehicle parked on the street. According to reports, the driver suffered serious injuries to his face after his head hit the windshield.
According to reports, the driver attempted to leave the incident site. The driver was apprehended and responders transported him to the hospital. The driver’s current condition is not known. He was identified only as 21 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver will be arrested for suspicion of drunk driving, according to Martinez.
