Six-year-old boy and Sixty-year-old Man Hit and Killed by Vehicle in Garden Grove
GARDEN GROVE, CA (October 14, 2019) – On Saturday night, a six-year-old boy and a sixty-year-old man were killed in Garden Grove when a car hit them. The October 12 incident occurred where Benton Street and Garden Grove Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly 8:50 p.m., Paul Ashby said. Ashby is an officer with the Garden Grove Police.
Reports say the boy and the man were struck at the intersection, but it is not clear from reports where they had been walking, and where the vehicle had been traveling.
Responders arrived and pronounced the boy and the man deceased at the accident site. The identities of the two victims, including their names and cities of residence, have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle remained at the accident scene and waited for responders to come. According to Ashby, the driver—who was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident—was evaluated by officers who arrived on scene. The driver had no signs of being impaired, according to reports.
The identity of the driver, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported.
