Vehicle Hits and Injures Pedestrian on University Avenue in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, CA (September 23, 2019) – On Friday morning, a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle on University Avenue in San Diego. The September 20 incident occurred in the 4800 block.
The time was roughly 7:30 a.m., San Diego Police said.
Reports say the pedestrian, identified only as a woman 77 years old, had been crossing the street when a vehicle—described as a Lexus—hit her. Responders arrived and transported the woman to the hospital.
According to Tony Martinez, who is an officer, the injuries the woman suffered were described as a pelvis that was dislocated, and a brain bleed. Her injuries were described as life-threatening, and her current condition is not known.
The woman’s name and city of residence have not been reported.
The person who had been driving the vehicle involved in the incident has not been identified, including name, age, gender, and city of residence. It is not known if anyone else had been an occupant of the vehicle at the time of the accident.
