Driver Fleeing Police Pursuit in Mountain View Smashes into Parked Vehicles
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA (September 12, 2019) – A driver who was fleeing police pursuit in Mountain View early in the morning on Thursday crashed into vehicles parked on the road. The September 12 incident occurred on 36th Street in the 500 block.
Reports say the incident began when San Diego Police tried to make a traffic stop for a vehicle at roughly 3:00 a.m. The vehicle—described as a Ford Fusion—is reported to have had expired tags.
According to reports, the driver would not pull over, but fled from officers. Officers followed the Ford on 36th Street as it headed south. The pursuit came to an end after the Ford smashed into multiple vehicles on 36th Street that had been parked.
The person who had been driving the vehicle, and two other occupants exited from the crashed car, and attempted to flee on foot. The suspects were located by officers and arrested.
One of the victims, identified only as a female, was transported to a hospital. The injuries she suffered have not been reported, and her current condition is not known.
None of the people who were in the Ford have been identified, including their names, ages, and cities of residence. It is not known who the driver was.
None of the owners of the parked vehicles that were smashed have been identified, nor the vehicles described.
Investigators are working to gather details, information, and evidence regarding the incident.
