Pedestrian Hit by Two Hit-and-run Drivers on Century Boulevard in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (September 10, 2019) – On Monday night, a pedestrian who was using a walker and going across Century Boulevard in Los Angeles was struck by two hit-and-run drivers. The September 10 incident occurred close to South Main Street and to the west of it, in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Broadway-Manchester.
The time was roughly 10:25 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Reports say the pedestrian—identified only as a man 65 years old—had been crossing the road when he was struck. Reports do not say exactly where the victim had been crossing, and it is not known if he was walking in a marked crosswalk.
According to Tim Jones, who is a sergeant with the police, authorities think two drivers hit the victim, and neither of the drivers stopped to help the injured man.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to a hospital in the area. His injuries have not been described, but his condition was described as critical. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
According to Jones, a Honda hatchback, blue in color, may have been one of the vehicles that struck the victim. A female may have been the driver of that vehicle. She has not been described.
Neither the other vehicle nor its driver have been described. Investigators are continuing their work to gather details and evidence.
