GLENDALE, CA (August 26, 2019) – On Friday night, a 13-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was struck while in a crosswalk in Glendale. The August 23 incident occurred on Verdugo Road in the 2800 block, where Glorietta Park is located.
The time was roughly a little before 8:00 p.m., the Glendale Police Department said.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a Subaru—had been traveling southbound on Verdugo Road, and hit the boy while he was in a crosswalk that is marked. According to a person who witnessed the incident, the pedestrian lights for the crosswalk were illuminated and flashing, and the vehicle went by at roughly 35 to 40 miles per hour.
