Two-vehicle Collision in San Diego’s City Heights Injures Three
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 6, 2019) – Early in the morning on Tuesday, two vehicles collided in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego, injuring three people. The August 6 incident occurred where Laurel Street and Fairmount Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly 1:00 a.m., according to San Diego Police.
Reports say a vehicle—described as white in color—had been traveling on Fairmount Avenue and heading north. The vehicle attempted to turn left on Laurel Street, and it collided with another vehicle—described as black in color—that had been traveling on Fairmount and going south.
According to reports, the black vehicle had been going at a fast speed when the collision occurred. The force of the collision caused both vehicles to spin out. The black car struck a pickup that had been parked on the road, and then came to a stop some distance from the site of the initial impact.
Two occupants of the black vehicle were injured, and bystanders helped the victims until responders arrived and transported the injured people to a hospital. The two victims—identified as both male—have not been identified, including their names, ages, and cities of residence.
The types of injuries the two victims suffered have not been described, and their current condition is not known. According to reports, neither of the men had been using seat belts when the crash occurred.
Responders also took the person who had been driving the white vehicle to a hospital. The identity of the person, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. The types of injuries the person suffered, and the current condition, is not known.
