Car Hits and Kills Pedestrian on Rancho Vista Boulevard in Palmdale
PALMDALE, CA (July 26, 2019) – Late at night on Wednesday, a car hit and killed a pedestrian in Palmdale. The July 24 incident occurred close to where Avenue O-8 and Rancho Vista Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly a little after 10:20 p.m., Edward Saucedo said. Saucedo is a detective with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Reports say a vehicle—described as a Toyota Yaris—had been traveling eastbound on Rancho Vista Boulevard. According to Saucedo, a pedestrian had been walking across the street not within a crosswalk, and when the traffic light was red. The Toyota hit the pedestrian.
Responders arrived and transported the victim to a hospital. He was pronounced deceased in the hospital. The victim was identified only as a man 27 years old. His name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver stayed at the accident site. The driver was identified only as a man 29 years old. The name and city of residence of the driver have not been reported.
