People Trapped in Overturned Pickup on 60 Freeway in Los Angeles Rescued by Good Samaritan
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 11, 2019) – Two people who were trapped in an overturned pickup on the 60 Freeway in Los Angeles were rescued by a Good Samaritan on Sunday. The July 7 incident occurred in the neighborhood of Jefferson Park, an area near Garfield Boulevard and to the west of it.
The time was roughly 4:42 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports say two vehicles collided, and one of the vehicles—described as a pick up truck—oveturned. A bystander—identified as Jorge Tiznado saw that no one was stopping to help, according to his daughter.
He pulled over and, according to reports, blocked three of the freeway’s lanes. He then helped remove two people who were trapped in the vehicle, identified only as a woman and a man. The names, ages, and cities of residence of the two victims have not been reported, nor who the driver was.
Tiznado and six other men then worked to flip the pickup so that it was upright. They then moved the pickup off the freeway’s lanes and onto the shoulder, reports say.
No details have been reported on the second vehicle involved in the crash. It is not known what type of vehicle it was, or who may have been traveling in it. The driver of the vehicle has not been identified.
The types of injuries suffered by the victims have not been reported, nor their current condition.
Nothing has been reported on what circumstances led to the crash. Investigators are continuing their exploration of the facts and information to understand the incident.
