Driver Suspected of Intentionally Hitting Pedestrian in Santa Paula
SANTA PAULA, CA (July 1, 2019) – A driver is suspected of intentionally hitting a pedestrian in Santa Paula late at night on Saturday. The June 29 incident occurred at 1203 East Main Street, at the 4 Guys Liquor parking lot.
The time was roughly 10:50 p.m.
Reports say authorities believe the suspect driver and the victim had been arguing, and the suspect driver then struck the victim with a vehicle on purpose. The driver then left the site.
Responders arrived and took the injured person to VCMC. The types of injuries the person suffered have not been reported, though the condition of the person was described as critical. The victim has been identified only as a man 44 years old and a resident of Santa Paula. His name has not been reported.
The suspect driver has not been identified or described, and the vehicle has not been described. The incident is being investigated by Santa Paula Police as an assault with a deadly weapon.
