Teenager Hit and Injured by Car in Orange
ORANGE, CA (May 30, 2019) – A teenager who had been walking in Orange was struck and injured by a vehicle Tuesday night. The May 28 incident occurred on Chapman Avenue in the 4100 block, near Haster Street and to the east of it.
The time was roughly 9:30 p.m.
Reports say the teenager—identified only as a person 14 years old—was struck by a vehicle. According to Phil McMullin, who is a sergeant with the Orange Police, the vehicle was described as a Toyota sedan.
Respondents arrived and transported the victim to a hospital. According to the Orange Police Department, the injuries the victim suffered were described as moderate, and not life threatening. The current condition of the victim is not known.
The person who had been driving the vehicle remained at the accident site. The identity of the driver, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence, has not been reported. It is not known if anyone else had been in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
No details are known from reports on how the crash occurred. It is not known if the pedestrian had been crossing the street, or walking along it. Investigators are examining the information to understand why the crash happened, and what events preceded it.
