Driver Evading Police Pursuit Arrested After Rollover Crash Near Guadalupe
GUADALUPE, CA (April 10, 2019) – A driver who evaded police pursuit was arrested after her vehicle crashed and overturned near Guadalupe on Tuesday afternoon. The April 9 accident occurred close to West Main Street and S. Simas Road.
The time was roughly 2:20 p.m.
Reports say a deputy from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office attempted to make a traffic stop on West Main Street in the 500 block, but the driver would not stop and pull over. According to the deputy, the person had been driving in an erratic manner. While fleeing authorities, the vehicle went out of the driver’s control, crashed, and overturned.
Respondents arrived and worked to rescue the driver from the vehicle, which had landed on its roof. According to deputies, the person behind the wheel was suspected of driving under the influence, and the vehicle was one that had been reported stolen.
The injured driver was transported to a hospital. The types of injuries she suffered have not been reported, and her current condition is not known. She was identified as Keely Gabriella Gonzalez, 26 years old and a resident of Lompoc. She was arrested and booked, reports say.
