Vehicle Hits and Kills Elderly Woman Walking Across 5th Street in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (March 29, 2019) – A vehicle hit and killed an elderly woman who was walking across 5th Street in San Bernardino in the evening on Tuesday. The March 26 accident occurred where 5th Street and F Street intersect.
The time was roughly 6:20 p.m., according to the San Bernardino Police Department.
Reports say the woman had been crossing within a crosswalk marked on the road. A vehicle that had been heading northbound on F Street made a turn to the left onto 5th Street, and hit the woman.
Respondents took the woman to Loma Linda University Medical Center. According to officials, she died in the hospital. She was identified as 75 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.
The driver was identified only as a man who is a resident of Rialto. His name and age have not been reported. The type of vehicle the man had been driving has not been described.
