Multi-vehicle Collision on I-5 in San Ysidro Causes Serious Injuries
SAN YSIDRO, CA (March 6, 2019) – A multi-vehicle collision early in the morning on Wednesday on the I-5 Freeway in San Ysidro caused serious injuries. The March 6 accident occurred in the southbound lanes of the freeway, close to Dairy Mart Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
The time was roughly 4:35 a.m.
Reports say that multiple vehicles collided, but the types of vehicles have not been described. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle involved in the crash erupted in flames. All of the people who had been traveling in the vehicle escaped from it, and a supervisor from San Diego Fire-Rescue said the flames were extinguished when respondents arrived.
Respondents transported three victims to hospitals. Reports say that one person suffered injuries that were described as life threatening. The two other victims suffered injuries that were not described as life threatening.
