Man Killed When Vehicle Hits Him in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 22, 2019) – Daniel Tofalla-Espinoza was killed Tuesday night in Bakersfield when a vehicle struck him while he was riding his skateboard. The February 19 accident occurred on Auburn Street in the 4200 block.
The time was roughly 8:20 p.m., according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
Reports say officers learned, upon arriving at the accident site, that a man had been crossing the street, not inside a crosswalk. A vehicle struck him.
Respondents transported Tofalla-Espinoza to a hospital in the area. He had suffered injuries that were major, according to reports. After arriving at the hospital, he was pronounced deceased. Tofalla-Espinoza was 29 years old.
The person who had been driving the vehicle at the time of the accident cooperated with investigators. The identity of the driver, including the person’s name, age, gender, and city of residence have not been reported. The type of vehicle involved has not been described.
