Driver Alleged to Have Rammed Patrol Vehicle with Stolen Audi is Arrested in Pomona
POMONA, CA (February 8, 2019) – Police arrested a driver who is alleged to have rammed a stolen Audi repeatedly into a Pomona police vehicle. The February 6 incident occurred on Mission Boulevard in a business parking lot.
Reports say police saw the Audi, which had been reported stolen, parked at the lot, located at 1560 E. Mission Boulevard. The person who had been driving the Audi put the gear in reverse when one of the officers tried to make a traffic stop. The Audi then rammed the police car multiple times.
The Audi struck other vehicles that had been parked in parking stalls next to it. According to police, a woman passenger who was in the car was held against her will. The driver would not let the woman exit the vehicle.
According to police, after a while, the wall collapsed and the driver could drive through it. He then fled on foot. Officers arrested the man before he escaped.
Reports say the driver was arrested and booked on suspicion of assault on an officer, false imprisonment, auto theft, and possession of a stolen vehicle. The identity of the driver—including his name, age, and city of residence—have not been reported.
