Truck Hits Woman Crossing Street in San Ysidro
SAN YSDIRO, CA (January 23, 2019) – A woman crossing the street in San Ysidro was struck and injured by a truck in the evening on Tuesday. The January 22 accident occurred where Olive Drive and San Ysidro Boulevard intersect.
The time was roughly 5:00 p.m.
Reports say the woman was walking across the road and a truck made a right turn and hit her. Respondents arrived on scene and took her to a hospital. Reports say her heart stopped and she had to be revived while in the hospital.
According to Andra Brown, who is a lieutenant with the San Diego Police Department, the victim did not appear to have serious injuries when the collision happened. Brown said the victim had bruises and scrapes.
As a precaution, respondents took the victim to the hospital. While in the hospital, the woman went into cardiac arrest. Medical staff revived her. Reports say the woman suffered head injuries also. The identity of the woman, including her name, age, and city of residence has not yet been reported.
The person who was driving the truck that struck the woman stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with investigators.
