Car Hits and Injures Boy Who Was Looking at Christmas Decorations
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 18, 2018) – A seven-year-old boy who was looking at Christmas decorations in San Diego on Monday night was hit and injured by a vehicle. The December 17 accident occurred on Newport Avenue in the 4700 block.
The time was roughly a bit before 6:30 p.m., John Buttle said. Buttle is an officer with the San Diego Police.
According to reports, the boy and his family were traveling on the street’s north side on foot. The group was looking at Christmas decorations and lights located on the street’s south side. The boy stepped off the curb and into the roadway. A vehicle—described as a Lexus sedan, year 2006—that had been traveling westward hit him.
Respondents took the boy to a hospital. Reports say the boy suffered an injury to his leg that is serious. According to Buttle, the injury is not thought to be life threatening.
The driver of the Lexus—identified as a man 55 years old—stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the investigation. According to Buttle, intoxication was not thought to have played a role in the accident.
