Jessica Ordaz Dies in Head-on Collision in Palmdale
PALMDALE, CA (November 16, 2018) – Jessica Ordaz was killed Thursday evening in Palmdale when a driver, who authorities suspect was drunk, struck her vehicle head on. The November 15 crash occurred on 50th Street East, to the north of Avenue P, according to Jason Murawski. Murawski is an officer with the California Highway Patrol.
The time was roughly 6:50 p.m.
According to reports, Mary Kruppe, a 35-year-old resident of Pearblossom, had been driving a Jeep Wrangler on 50th Street East at a speed that is not known. She drove into the oncoming lanes on the street’s opposite side, and hit a Mazda 3 head on. The driver of the Mazda was killed, Murawski says.
The victim was identified as Jessica Ordaz, a 29-year-old resident of Lancaster. She died at the accident scene.
Respondents took Kruppe to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were described as moderate. According to Murawki, authorities believe that alcohol played a role in the crash.
Investigators are examining the details of the collision to understand why it occurred. No other details have currently been reported.
