Car Crashes into FedEx Building Due to Possible Street Racing in Studio City

STUDIO CITY, CA (August 29, 2018) – A car crashed into a FedEx building Wednesday morning in Studio City. The accident happened close to where Ventura Boulevard and Laurel Canyon Boulevard intersect.

The time was roughly 3:00 a.m.

According to police, the person who had been driving the vehicle that crashed, identified as a Lexus, had been street racing at the time he lost control and smashed into the building.

The Lexus, white in color, was seen on video slamming through the building’s window. The impact left debris on the sidewalk outside and in the store’s interior.

A person who saw the car prior to the accident said it was racing beside another vehicle roughly a half hour before the collision.

Investigators think that the Lexus had been racing prior to the crash, an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department said.

People in the area helped the Lexus’ driver shortly after the collision, and helped remove things from the car, as was seen on video.

The Lexus’ driver went to a vehicle close by, according to reports, and left the scene with other people.

Responders took a person who had been injured inside the FedEx building to the hospital. The victim suffered back and neck injuries.

Officials are searching for the driver of the Lexus.
