LONG BEACH, CA (July 28, 2018) – A man crossing the road was struck and killed by a hit-and-run vehicle in Long Beach Saturday morning.
The accident occurred where Pacific Avenue and West 14th Street intersect.
The time was roughly 9:40 a.m.
Reports say that a vehicle, which has not been identified, hit the pedestrian as he crossed the road. The driver did not remain at the scene of the accident.
Responders took the pedestrian to a hospital nearby. He died of severe injuries.
Reports do not yet identify the victim. No information has been released of the vehicle that hit the victim, or the identity of the driver.
Police investigators, according to California Highway Patrol, believe the incident could have been done on purpose.
Investigators are continuing their examination into this case.
