Woman Injured when Vehicle Runs Over Her in Suspected Intentional Crash by Estranged Partner In Ventura, CA

VENTURA, CA (June 23, 2022) – A woman was struck and run over in Ventura on Sunday in a crash that authorities allege was intentional by her estranged partner. The June 19 crash occurred on South Dunning Street in the 300 block, in a cul-de-sac.

The time was roughly 7:45 p.m., Ventura police said.

Authorities allege that a domestic violence event preceded the crash. They allege an argument took place involving the suspect–identified as Elizabeth Guillen, 47 years old, who is the estranged partner of the victim–and the victim.

Authorities allege the victim was run over intentionally by Guillen who was driving the vehicle that hit the victim; Guillen left the scene of the incident.

Responders arrived and found the victim down on the ground. They transported her to the hospital.

She suffered injuries that were described as life threatening, and her condition is critical. She was identified only as 54 years old. Her name has not been reported.

Days later, authorities located the vehicle they suspect was involved in the hit-and-run crash. They arrested Guillen on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and domestic violence with injury.

Investigators are continuing their work on the crash.
