Hit-and-Run Driver Damages Vehicles on Kansas Street in San Diego’s North Park

SAN DIEGO, CA (May 21, 2020) – Early in the morning on Tuesday, a hit-and-run driver who damaged vehicles in San Diego’s North Park was arrested. The May 19 incident occurred on Kansas Street close to El Cajon Boulevard.

The time was roughly 2:15 a.m., according to San Diego Police.

Reports say police received calls of a crash incident. Upon arriving at the incident site, officers found a number of vehicles that were parked on the street had been damaged. They also saw the vehicle that they suspected had been driven by the hit-and-run driver.

Officers saw the driver who is suspected of the hit-and-run crash walking not far from the crash site. She was with her dog on El Cajon Boulevard.

Officers approached the suspect, and she ran from them. An officer was reported to have tackled her. Police arrested the suspect.

The suspect’s identity, including name, age, and city of residence, has not been reported. The dog ran away and has not yet been found, reports say.

None of the owners of the parked vehicles that were struck have been identified in reports. Investigators are working to gather information and details regarding the crash.
