Reckless Driver Dies in South Sacramento

Sacramento, CA – A driver suffered serious injuries and died in the hospital after crashing on Highway 99 Saturday night.

The driver, a forty-one-year-old woman from Rancho Cordova, was driving recklessly southbound on Highway 99 in south Sacramento. She turned and headed northbound. When she was near Turnbridge Pedestrian Crossing she was driving at a high rate of speed and lost control of her vehicle. She crashed near Florin Road and 47th Avenue at about eight at night.
The vehicle struck the center median, veered across all lanes towards the shoulder, hit a guardrail, rolled over, then crashed through a soundwall. She received serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in critical condition. She was pronounced dead two days later.
Police are investigating the car accident.
