GMC Yukon Catches On Fire During Test Drive

GMC Yukon Catches On Fire During Test DriveGeneral Motor’s is having a bit of a PR crisis with a scathing recall that has gone untreated for over a decade. Today, a test drive turned sour, when a 2015 GMC Yukon caught fire during a test drive.

The incident happened Sunday afternoon when the SUV burst into flames in Anaheim. Witnesses took cell phone video of the car fire. According to officials, the GMC Yukon inexplicably caught fire during a routine test drive.

The fire occurred in the 2500 block of East Wagner around 2 p.m. Sunday. Fire officials responded quickly and the fire was out in around ten minutes. There were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by police and General Motors.

It’s not clear what dealership the 2015 GMC Yukon was from, or who was driving at the time of the incident.

The 2015 GMC Yukon is a completely new SUV from General Motors and GMC, and the fire comes on the heels of bad publicity from a deadly defect in cars that’s been known about since the early 2000s.
