Driver, Suspected of DUI, Hits Structures in Yucaipa
YUCAIPA, CA (August 17, 2018) – A man who is suspected to have been driving drunk hit a number of structures on Tuesday evening, according to officials with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s office.
The man, described as a 24-year-old resident of Yucaipa, hit a fire hydrant, 2 power poles, and 7 mailboxes in the accident, which took place at roughly 7:15 p.m.
Reports say that Ranard Barnhardtmuller was heading west on Date Avenue in his Ford Explorer on August 14, going toward California Street in Yucaipa. Officials say the vehicle then went out of control and hit the mailboxes, poles, and hydrant prior to coming to a stop.
Responders took the injured driver to Loma Linda University Medical Center with injuries that were described as minor.
