Car Strikes Light Pole in Wilmington, Killing One Boy, Injuring Another Boy and a Man
WILMINGTON, CA (August 31, 2018) – A crash that occurred on Monday in Wilmington killed one boy. Another boy suffered injuries that were critical, and a man was injured.
According to reports, a vehicle smashed into a light pole on Quay Avenue in the 200 block, close to railroad tracks.
The time was roughly 11:30 a.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
A train was not involved in the crash.
Firefighters had to extricate the boy who died from the damaged vehicle. The boy was identified as a 10 year old.
The other boy who was in the crashed vehicle was identified as being between 6 and 8 years of age. Responders took the injured boy, and the injured man, to the hospital. The condition of the man was described as fair to serious.
No other details were available regarding the names of the people involved in the crash.
Investigators are looking into the details to determine what caused the accident.
