Late-Night Collision On Blackstone Avenue Kills 60 Year Old Male Pedestrian
FRESNO, CA (May 7, 2025) — A 60-year-old man was killed late Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle in central Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department.
The collision occurred just before midnight on May 3 near Blackstone Avenue between Griffith and Saginaw Ways. Officers arrived to find the victim, identified as William Haywood of Fresno, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Who Accidentally Killed William Haywood Remained At The Scene
Police say the driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation. At this time, authorities do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision to determine what led to the fatal encounter.
