Police indicated that a pedestrian was killed on Monday evening in Westminster when he was hit by a car.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a traffic accident at 6:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Springdale Street just south of Westminster Boulevard. According to witnesses, the pedestrian was attempting to cross Springdale Street when he was hit by a Toyota Camry. It was not immediately clear if he was in a crosswalk.
The pedestrian was described as an adult male and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say they will not release his name until his family has been notified.
The driver of the Camry remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Investigators do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
