Woman Dies after Hit-and-run Crash in Westlake; Investigators Offer $50,000 Reward
WESTLAKE, CA (November 25, 2020) – Kuen Ham, who was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Westlake on Monday, died from her injuries. The November 23 crash occurred on Miramar Street at Union Avenue.
The time was roughly a little before 6:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.
Ham had been going across Miramar Street on foot, and a vehicle–described as a four-door Toyota Corolla, tan in color–struck her after turning onto Miramar from Union Avenue. Los Angeles Police said the vehicle dragged Ham roughly 15 feet down the road before she came loose, and the person drove away.
Responders transported Ham to the hospital. She died later that night.
Ham was a resident of Westlake, 76 years old.
Video recorded the Toyota in the vicinity of the crash.
A reward of $25,000 was first offered for information by authorities. On Tuesday, authorities doubled the reward to $50,000 for information that leads to arrest and conviction related to the crash.
